"We found the AI.implant software development kit (SDK) flexible
enough to meet the demands of our developers as well as current and
future customers alike."
— Udo Holländer, Team Leader, Training & Simulation, Krauss-Maffei Wegmann
AI.implant makes it easy to accurately simulate crowd & vehicle behavior within urban environments. With visual behavior authoring and debugging tools, users can create vehicular and human agents for simulation projects that easily scale from a single, intelligent entity to large crowds with autonomous and group behaviors.
If you need it to think on its own, then it needs AI.implant.

Dynamic Path Refinement The dynamic path refinement (DPR) feature enables AI.implant characters to find paths through dynamic, physical worlds where obstacles move to unscripted locations based on game play. DPR is also a streamlined production process where obstacle placement may be relocated from the art tool to the level editor reducing NavMesh setup and rework.
Special Character Actions The AI world can now be marked up to represent special character actions or moves, such as ladders, jumps, zip lines and various other non surface based navigation.
Streaming - AI.implant now provides hooks to leverage the host engine's streaming capability. This feature enables AI content to be authored in discrete pieces and then to be linked and assembled later in the production process.
Hierarchical Pathfinding - Used to compute paths in large worlds, hierarchical pathfinding enables the navigation network to be represented at multiple levels of detail and refined to more granular levels as
necessary. |

Features & Benefits for Simulation and Training |
Tackle the greatest challenge in next-generation simulations with powerful tools for both dynamic pathfinding and obstacle avoidance:
- Powerful physics-aware dynamic navigation that can respond to unpredictable and changing in-simulation physics.
- Support for navigation meshes and waypoint networks.
- 3D support for multiple levels and urban environments.
- Terrain-based meta data to constrain character movement to pre-selected paths, roads, etc.
- Automatic path smoothing.
- Use dynamic obstacle avoidance to prevent characters from running into each other while pathfinding.
- Offers circumvention and queuing strategies.
