Latest release of new Artificial Intelligence technology to help power a new generation of dynamic, open-ended game-play
SAN FRANCISCO – March 7, 2007 – Engenuity Technologies Inc. [“Engenuity” or the “Company”] [TSX: EGY], a global leader in providing artificial intelligence (AI) tools and middleware for games, animation and simulation, announced today that AI.implant version 5.0 is now available.
The new version of the multi award-winning AI.implant tools and middleware will deliver a broad array of sought-after new features and capabilities for the games and simulation markets. AI.implant 5.0 expands its already deep integration with Epic’s Unreal Engine 3 (UE3) to offer programmers and level editors a completely native experience of AI.implant in UnrealEd. Game developers will be able to access an enhanced physics-aware pathfinding toolset designed to bring dynamic and open-ended game-play to next-generation games. Companies such as Vivendi Games, Electronic Arts, Midway Home Entertainment, and BioWare Corp. are already making use of these powerful new features for their upcoming titles.
“AI.implant version 5.0 makes massive destruction and truly open-ended game-play a reality,” said Aaron Davey, director of operations, games and entertainment at Engenuity. “Our unique Dynamic Path Refinement (DPR) technology is the only pathfinding solution on the market that adapts and responds to ever-changing in-game physics. This new approach to game-play allows developers to create games with an exponentially higher amount of game content, while side-stepping the laborious work of scripting every possible game-play scenario.”
AI.implant 5.0 also features powerful new obstacle traversal and vaulting options that bring an increased level of immersive reality to game-play by allowing characters to navigate their environments in multiple ways including vaulting over obstacles rather than simply walking around them. Additionally, AI.implant 5.0 has placed special emphasis on cinematic movement that ensures highly realistic and natural motion for non-player characters (NPC’s) powered by AI.implant.
Game developers can get a hands-on experience of AI.implant 5.0 at this year’s Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. Visitors to the AI.implant booth 224 will also be able to attend special AI.implant presentations from BioWare Corp., Midway Home Entertainment Inc., and NetDevil Ltd.
